Manufacturer drug coupons no longer accepted with qualified high-deductible health plans during the deductible period

Feb. 24, 2022

Effective January 1, 2022, Kaiser Permanente Washington will be aligning with the national Kaiser Permanente program in regard to manufacturer drug coupons. As a result, we can no longer accept manufacturer drug coupons for members on qualified high-deductible health plans during the deductible period. Once the deductible is met, members can use manufacturer coupons, although not all manufacturer coupons are accepted, and the list of approved coupons is subject to change.

Learn more about which coupons are currently accepted, as well as other terms and limitations. If a member is using a coupon today that’s not on the list, they may continue to use it once their deductible is satisfied.

We understand this may have a financial impact on some members. If they have questions, they can call Member Services at 1‑800‑775‑6027 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Note: This change will impact approximately 279 HMO and PPO members across all lines of business. Notification letters were mailed to these members in October 2021.
