Group size verification begins this month

Mar. 05, 2019

Starting this month, we will begin contacting employers with 200 or fewer employees to verify their group size. Confirming that businesses continue to fit in the category of a small or large group employer will ensure accurate Affordable Care Act compliance reporting for medical loss ratio and risk adjustment. This is in alignment with state and federal requirements.

How group size will be verified

Employers will be contacted 6 months before their renewal date and asked to complete an online group size attestation form. For example, groups with a September 2019 renewal date will receive a communication from us via email or U.S. mail in March 2019.

It’s important that we verify group size in advance of your next renewal date so you have time to consider plan options, make benefit decisions, and conduct open enrollment activities. You will have 30 days to complete and return the online form. This will ensure that we’re able to release your upcoming renewal package without delay.

Questions

If you have questions about the group size attestation form or process, please contact your producer or your designated Kaiser Permanente Washington account manager.
