Our members now have access to ChooseHealthy®, Kaiser Permanente’s national fitness and complementary care discount program. The program offers a wide variety of fitness-related discounts and programs for members — from gym memberships and activity trackers to workout gear and equipment.
ChooseHealthy replaces Global Fit™ and Complementary Choices™ in the Kaiser Permanente Washington region. The program is provided through American Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH). ASH also provides Silver&Fit®, a fitness program that was rolled out to Kaiser Permanente Washington Medicare Advantage members in January 2019.
The ChooseHealthy program provides members with discounts on a variety of services, including:
- Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy
- A variety of wellness offerings designed to help members live active and healthy lives
- The Active&Fit Direct program, a national network of fitness centers
It’s important to note that ChooseHealthy is not insurance. It’s offered in addition to any health plan coverage as an extra resource for our members.
Extensive fitness discounts
Fitness discounts are available on exercise gear and equipment. Members also have access to more than 9,000 participating fitness centers nationwide, with memberships just $25 a month plus a $25 enrollment fee.
Discounts on complementary and alternative care
Complementary and alternative care discounts give Kaiser Permanente members up to 25% off participating providers’ standard fees for acupuncture, chiropractic care, and massage therapy when they make appointments through the ChooseHealthy specialty providers discount program.
Some Kaiser Permanente health plans include coverage for complementary or alternative care, such as acupuncture, chiropractic services, and massage therapy. When members use the ChooseHealthy program to access care, services are not covered by their plan benefits.
Before using the ChooseHealthy discount program, members are encouraged to check their coverage to see if their costs would be lower by using their plan benefits. Coverage varies by plan. Members can check their coverage by signing in to their account at kp.org/wa or by calling Member Services at 1-888-901-4636.
